This flyweight bout had bad blood written all over it after a heated scuffle at the weigh-ins, and Pearl Gonzalez made sure to end it fast. Gonzalez, fresh off her UFC run, came out aggressive, immediately wobbling Barbara Acioly with a sharp left hand. Though Acioly recovered, Gonzalez smelled blood and quickly secured a takedown, moving straight to mount. Acioly showed her toughness, scrambling out of the bad position and ending up on top. It didn't matter. Gonzalez was a shark from the bottom, immediately threatening with a triangle choke before brilliantly transitioning to a tight armbar, forcing the tap just 90 seconds into the very first round.
