The Houseki fight against the Moon Dwellers, beings who attack them and use their shattered bodies as decorations. Each Houseki is assigned a role, and Phos, the youngest, is assigned to create an encyclopedia of natural history.

such an amazing anime the manga is even better because it gives you closure, it doesn't hold your hand saying what exactly what's happening or what's feeling in the scene but if you've been through it you'll know it. Houseki no Kuni (Land of the lustrous) is about self love, self compassion, self worth, sense of identity and belonging. Phos undergoes so much more than what the other gems have and the ending of the manga is so beautiful and amazing that it resonated with me and Phos' character in general, I truly recommend reading the manga and it just ended recently too. Such a shame we're not getting a s2.
