I understand the point of the show. These people are self-hating, despicable, irreverent, and disgusting human beings who have zero clue on how to behave or move on from anything. Nonetheless, the writing was quite atrocious at times. Josie is a pathetic woman whose idea of a good time is fantasizing about suicide. Her entire journey throughout this season was nonsensical. Sure, she's sort of figuring out she could be gay, but then just randomly decides to have s*x with the other pathetic excuse of a human being, her "boyfriend". For Billie, pathetic would be too weak of a word to use to describe her. Again, I realise THIS is the entire point of the show, these people can not stand up for themselves, but it's also taken to a point where it's not fun to watch whatsoever. The mother, Deb, might be the single most annoying and utterly vile character I've witnessed in a long time. Not only does she actively and knowingly push her daughters, especially Josie, towards being extremely miserable, but her idiocy is unmatched. Dev, her lover of sorts, has a bit of a resemblance to an interesting character, but his stupidity is most definitely up there with the others. There's just no fun to be had here, and pretty much no character progression by the final episode at all. Mind-numbingly stupid from the start to the end.
