Yikes them Texas Rangers are a bit dodgy. *extra text to reach minimum word amount*
Yet another documentary exposing huge police corruption. This time its the Texas rangers who used a total scumbag and possible serial killer to clear a huge backlog of unsolved murders. The evidence clearly exposes the departments extensive lies and proves there was no way Lucas could even have been in the vicinity of many of the murders they attributed to him. Sickeningly, this also meant that the real killers got away and were free to continue murdering.
What ever you thought about the reputation about the texas rangers before will be destroyed in this series.
It has been going on for the ages. Siding with your captors. Henry Lucas is the biggest Serial killer of all time that killed one person his mother. This Limited series is an amazing tale of one of the greatest miscarrages of justice handled so poorly by the Texas Rangers when challenged by the legals and the street Sheriffs It is a stunning doco better than The Bundy tapes... interesting to note. One said I killed everybody one said I killed no body. both were lying. Henry Lee is engaging at the very least. This is a stunning tale of numbers more than anything. A must Watch as an article on early 80.s law enforcement in America.
Well made, thought provoking series, but after the hugely flawed and slanted "Making of a Murderer" how much can we believe from a Netflix documentary? Definitely worth the time, if for no other reason than to see how ready law enforcement is to believe whatever suits their purpose. But viewers should take what they see with a huge grain of salt. If you don't know what I mean by that, take some time searching the web for the *true* story that was so misrepresented in "Making of a Murderer". Haven't gotten around to fact checking this one yet, so I'll give it a 7 out of 10 based on production values alone, but with huge reservations based on Netflix's history of bending the truth.
