Arguably the best thing I have seen on TV. Tightly scripted, beautiful filmed and superb acting, especially by Jenna Coleman.
Tension and a certain feeling of dread builds up through the first episode, leaving many questions behind.Postpartum depression is also portrayed in a way I've never seen it before.Very curious as to where this show is going.
I have to admit I found the first half of the premiere long and didn't really understand what was happening. The acting is superb and I am a huge fan of actress Asher Keddie. (Awesome to see her back, she's made her way to Canada again!) This is a story that is much like putting together a rather large puzzle, but once the pieces fall in to place the suspense is all but edge of your seat fantastic. A child has disappeared in among a very complicated relationship that involves an unfavorable marriage split, remarriage, and the battle for a teenage girls custody and then a missing newborn child born from the second marriage. We see the mother charged (with what is not fully disclosed) and placed on trial. The dick of a father seems to be nowhere in these scenes and as a matter of fact for a mother with a colic baby on her hands he's as useless as tits on a bull. A thoughtless prick who seems to be only out for what makes him happy. The story line is character driven however these characters are extremely complicated and a bit odd acting given the seriousness of their situation. I gave episode one a generous 8 because I believe there is a tremendous amount of suspense to follow in this series and I believe with patience it is going to be well worth the watch and probably talked about days after it's finale.
Episode 1 was interesting enough, M McCann conspiracy theories were in my mind. Episode 2, nothing happens. Very, very slow paced. Episode 3, fairly interesting, one good part. Episode 4, just kind of confirms most of your suspicions. Not very gripping, unfortunately. You could see plots a mile ahead.
Has something similar happened to Maddie? It makes me wonder....
Terrific from start to finish. Twists and turns kept me interested. Makes me want to read Helen Fitzgerald novels and see more of Jenna Coleman.
